Ryan Reynolds has dedicated his new star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame to his wife Blake Lively.
The 40-year-old actor took his wife and two children, as well as his mother, to the ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard.
“You make everything better, I mean absolutely everything in my life better,” he told Lively.
“You are the best thing, the best thing that has ever happened to me, second only to this star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” he joked.
Gossip Girl star Lively shared a message after the ceremony, saying “proud is a pitiful word to describe how I felt today”.
“The permanence of your impact is undeniable,” she said. “Always has been, but now we have a fancy star to show for it.”
The Deadpool star has enjoyed a surge in popularity this year, after his 11-year passion project became an unexpected hit.
The film was first rejected and then brought back by 20th Century Fox last year on a $ 58m (£46m) budget.
According to Reynolds, the change of heart reflected a “change in management”.
The bet paid off, with Deadpool scoring $ 780m (£620m) worldwide, and signalled a much-awaited U-turn for Reynold’s career.
Last week, he was nominated for best actor in a comedy or musical at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, and earlier this year was awarded the Entertainer of the Year prize at the 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards.
The film also impressed critics, earning a best picture nomination at the Golden Globes.
